Lakshmi (also known as Sri, Lakshmidevi, Lokamatara, Devi, Devi Sri) is a Hindu goddess, considered the goddess of wealth, beauty, prosperity and happiness. She is also known as the consort of the god Vishnu. Lakshmi is often depicted with four arms, symbolizing dharma (right living), artu (art), kama (pleasure) and moksha (liberation from suffering). She is also often depicted sitting on a lotus, symbolizing fertility and spiritual development. Lakshmi is often worshiped in temples and is the subject of many religious practices and rituals in Hinduism.
