3D Wind Spinner Butterfly with Blue Balls

The 3D Wind Spinner Butterfly with blue balls is an elegant rotating hanging decoration made of silver-coloured metal. At the top is an openwork butterfly with a large turquoise-blue glass ball in the centre, below it a spiral "twister" with a second blue ball inside, and the piece is finished with a clear teardrop crystal pendant.

The spinner hangs from a chain with a hook and starts turning with the slightest breath of air. As it rotates, the spiral creates the illusion of endless up-and-down movement, while the metal and glass shimmer in the light.

A sun catcher

On a sunny day the crystal pendant and glass balls refract the light and scatter sunspots and little rainbows across the walls and ceiling. That is why such spinners are called sun catchers: the more light, the brighter and livelier the room looks.

The meaning of the butterfly and the spinner in Feng Shui

In Chinese tradition the butterfly is a symbol of joy, love and lightness, and a pair of butterflies stands for a happy union. The Chinese word for butterfly sounds like the word for great old age, so it is also associated with longevity. The blue colour of the balls belongs to the Water element — calm, wisdom and the flow of prosperity.

In Feng Shui, rotating hangings and crystals are used to "revive" stagnant energy: movement and the play of light symbolically fill the space with fresh, active energy.

Such a spinner symbolically combines:

joy and lightness;
love and harmony;
renewal and positive change;
light and positive energy;
well-being at home.

Where to hang it

The best place is by a window, on a balcony, veranda or terrace, where the spinner catches sunlight and a light breeze. It is also hung in a garden, gazebo, on a porch, in a child's room or bedroom. Indoors it will turn from a draught, an air conditioner or an open window.

Care

Wipe the spinner with a soft dry cloth; the glass balls and crystal can be cleaned with a glass wipe to make them sparkle. Avoid abrasive cleaners. If the spinner hangs outdoors, it is best taken down in severe weather.

The butterfly wind spinner as a gift

This light and festive butterfly spinner is a lovely gift for a birthday, housewarming, Women's Day or just because. It is given as a wish for joy, love, lightness and light in the home.
