Hexagonal Stone Box "Swirl" No. 364

Hexagonal Stone Box "Swirl" No. 364 — a handmade box of agalmatolite ("soapstone"), painted and carved. A hexagonal box: a blue, red and green swirl of curls on the lid, with carved leaves on the sides. Size — 10×10×5 cm, weight — about 535 g.

A handmade agalmatolite box

The box was made by craftsmen in Agra, India — the city of the Taj Mahal with its famous stone carving. Agalmatolite, known as "soapstone", is soft and warm to the touch and easy to carve, so Indian carvers create fine patterns in it: the surface is painted and then the design is cut through to the light stone. Every box is painted and carved by hand, so the shade and details may vary slightly — you get a one-of-a-kind piece.

Why choose this box:

natural stone and handwork by Indian craftsmen;
a unique design no one else has;
a close-fitting lid keeps jewellery dust-free;
a ready gift that needs no extra wrapping.

What to keep in it and care

The box holds rings, earrings, chains, bracelets and watches, as well as amulets, crystals, tarot cards, notes and keepsakes. It decorates a dressing table, chest of drawers or an Eastern-style shelf. A stone box is heavier than a wooden one and stands firmly; protect it from falls and wipe it with a soft dry cloth.

As a gift

A painted stone box is a beautiful gift for a mother, friend, colleague or loved one for a birthday, Women's Day or New Year, and for lovers of India and Eastern decor. Order the box now — wholesale and retail.
