The Gods of Wealth of the Five Directions

Chinese folk tradition reveres the Gods of Wealth of the Five Directions (五路財神, wu lu cai shen): each is believed to bring money from his own direction — east, west, south, north and centre — so that wealth arrives "from every road". They are especially honoured on the fifth day of Chinese New Year, when people welcome the God of Wealth.

The figurine symbolically:

attracts money and wealth;
brings luck in trade and business;
creates a festive mood;
is a daily reminder of good wishes.

Where to place it

The figurine is placed on a windowsill, a desk, by a cash desk or in the south-eastern wealth area — wherever daylight falls on it. You can collect all the Gods of Wealth of the different directions.

As a gift

A cheerful God of Wealth is a gift for Chinese New Year, a colleague, an entrepreneur or a child, with a wish for wealth and joy.
