The wealth toad and the tea ceremony

The three-legged toad Jin Chan (金蟾) is one of the best-known money talismans of Feng Shui: according to legend, it brings coins and wealth into the home, and the coin in its mouth symbolises an inflow of money. Tea figurines (茶寵, cha chong — "tea pets") are placed on a tea tray and watered with leftover tea during the ceremony: it is believed that the figurine "absorbs" the tea's aroma and "feeds" good luck.

The tea toad symbolically:

attracts money and wealth;
brings luck in business;
creates a special tea-drinking atmosphere;
is a reminder of ritual and unhurriedness.

Where to place it

The figurine is placed on a tea tray or tea table; as a talisman, by the entrance or in the south-eastern wealth area, facing into the room so that money "comes into" the home.

As a gift

A tea wealth toad is a gift for a tea lover, a colleague or an entrepreneur, with a wish for wealth and pleasant tea parties.
