Altar Figurine “Kali”

Kali is the fierce goddess of Hinduism, an embodiment of Shakti who defeats demons and destroys ignorance. The figurine shows her many-armed, wearing a necklace and holding the attributes of victory over evil.

Meaning in tradition. The name Kali is linked with the word kala, time, so she is honoured as the mistress of time and change. In myth she is born from the wrath of the goddess Durga to destroy invincible asuras. For her devotees Kali is a loving Mother who protects and frees from fear.
