Altar Figurine “Hades”, Large

Hades is the ancient Greek god, lord of the underworld and keeper of the depths of the earth. He is shown wearing a crown, holding a bident topped with a skull and leading the three-headed dog Cerberus — guardian of the gates of the dead — on chains. A wall of skulls rises behind him.

Meaning in tradition. The Greeks honoured Hades as a stern but just ruler: he knew no pity, yet never broke the law. His other name is Pluto, “the rich one”: all the treasures hidden deep in the earth belonged to him, as did the fertility of the soil from which the harvest is born.

Esoteric properties:

• helps with shadow work and deep fears
• symbolises hidden resources and accumulated wealth
• gives strength to finish the old and let go of the past
• protects boundaries — of the home, the family and personal space

How to use. Place the figurine on an ancestor or protection altar and use it in shadow work, during the waning moon and when closing a stage of life.

The figurine is made of polystone in an antique bronze finish, with a name plate “Hades” on the base. Complete your altar with magic candles and incense.
