Rudraksha Seed Mala 9 mm

Rudraksha Seed Mala 9 mm — a mala made of natural rudraksha seeds. Medium beads with an orange tassel — a classic choice for mantras and meditation. The strand has 108 beads, the sacred number of mantra repetitions. Size — 0.9×0.9×50 cm, weight — about 40 g.

What is rudraksha

Rudraksha are the seeds of the Elaeocarpus ganitrus tree, which grows in the Himalayan foothills, Nepal, India and Indonesia. The name means "tears of Rudra": legend says the seeds grew from the tears Shiva shed out of compassion for the world. For thousands of years rudraksha has been used to make malas for mantra chanting, worn by yogis, sadhus and followers of Shiva. Every bead is a natural seed with its own relief and number of faces, so no two malas are the same.

Why choose this mala:

natural rudraksha seeds, not a plastic imitation;
textured beads are easy to count with the fingers during japa;
the tassel and knots are made in the traditional Indian style;
the mala is both a practice tool and an ethnic accessory.

How to use

Hold the mala in your right hand and move one bead for each repetition of the mantra, starting next to the tassel. When you reach the tassel, do not cross it: turn the mala around and go back the other way. The mala can be worn around the neck or kept on an altar. Keep it away from water and chemicals and wipe it now and then with a soft dry cloth.
