Bamboo Wind Chime BW-2 10 Tubes with Burnt Pattern 57 cm

The Bamboo Wind Chime BW-2 10 Tubes with Burnt Pattern 57 cm is a wind chime made of natural light bamboo decorated with burnt spiral patterns: 10 hollow bamboo tubes hang on strong cords from a top made from a long bamboo bar that holds all ten tubes. A bamboo striker sits in the centre, and a bamboo sail at the bottom catches the wind. Length about 57 cm, weight about 270 g.

The sound of bamboo

When the wind moves the sail, the striker taps the hollow tubes and they answer with a quiet, wooden clatter. The sound does not ring but soothes, which is why bamboo wind chimes are hung where you want peace and rest.

The tubes are decorated with hand-burnt spiral patterns, a traditional technique for decorating bamboo. The pattern makes the wind chime festive and emphasises the natural light colour of the stem.

The meaning of a bamboo wind chime

In Feng Shui bamboo embodies the Wood element — growth, development and vitality. A bamboo wind chime gently "revives" Qi energy without overloading the space with loud ringing, and is especially fitting in the east and south-east of a room, in the garden and in places for rest.

Such a wind chime symbolically:

brings calm and comfort into the home;
symbolises resilience and longevity;
attracts luck and well-being;
helps you relax after work;
connects your interior with nature.

Where to hang it

Hang it by a window, on a balcony or porch where there is a light breeze. Indoors it suits a living room, kitchen or hallway and goes well with eco, ethnic and Scandinavian interiors.

Care

Protect the bamboo from constant moisture and long direct sunlight so it does not crack or fade. Wipe the tubes with a dry cloth and take the chime indoors in strong wind and bad weather.

As a gift

This gift will appeal to those who value natural materials and cosiness: it suits a housewarming, a birthday or as a souvenir for home and garden with a wish for well-being.
