Bamboo Wind Chime BW-13 8 Tubes with Cylinder Top 65 cm

The Bamboo Wind Chime BW-13 8 Tubes with Cylinder Top 65 cm is a wind chime made of stained bamboo in a warm honey-brown colour: 8 hollow bamboo tubes hang on strong cords from a top shaped like a horizontal bamboo cylinder. A bamboo striker sits in the centre, and a bamboo sail at the bottom catches the wind. Length about 65 cm, weight about 310 g.

How a bamboo wind chime sounds

Unlike metal chimes, bamboo sounds soft and mellow with a warm wooden tone — like light rain or a rustling bamboo grove. The tubes have cut-out slots that act as resonators and deepen the sound.

The honey-brown stained bamboo looks warm and cosy and goes well with wooden furniture, wicker chairs and green plants.

Bamboo in Feng Shui

In Chinese tradition bamboo is a symbol of growth, flexibility, resilience and longevity: it grows up quickly and bends in the wind but does not break. A bamboo wind chime belongs to the Wood element, so in Feng Shui it is hung in the eastern part of the home — the family and health area — or in the south-east, linked to wealth.

A bamboo wind chime symbolically helps to:

support growth and development;
strengthen family harmony;
create an atmosphere of peace and rest;
gently revive stagnant energy;
fill the home with natural sounds.

Where to hang it

A bamboo wind chime looks great on a veranda, balcony, terrace, in a gazebo, garden or by an open window. Under a canopy it will sound with every breeze and last longer than in open rain.

Care

Bamboo is a natural material, so during rain and frost bring the chime indoors or hang it under a canopy. Remove dust with a soft dry cloth or brush, and gently straighten any tangled cords.

As a gift

A bamboo wind chime is a warm, natural gift for a housewarming, a summer cottage, a country house or a lover of eco decor. It is given as a wish for harmony, growth and calm.
