Bronze Shou Xing on a Deer Figurine, 5 cm

Bronze Shou Xing on a Deer Figurine, 5 cm — a miniature bronze figurine of long-bearded Shou Xing riding a deer and carrying a staff with a calabash gourd over his shoulder. Size — 3×1×5 cm, weight — about 36 g.

Who Shou Xing is

Shou Xing (壽星) is the star god of longevity, one of the three elders Fu Lu Shou. He is recognised by his high domed forehead, long white beard and a staff with a calabash gourd holding the elixir of life; he often holds the peach of immortality. The deer beside him symbolises prosperity: the word for deer (鹿, lu) sounds like "salary, well-being" (祿).

The figurine symbolically:

supports health and longevity;
brings prosperity and well-being;
symbolises wisdom and a peaceful old age;
fills the home with harmony.

Where to place it

Shou Xing is placed in the eastern part of the home — the health and family area — in the living room or in the room of elder family members.

As a gift

Shou Xing is a traditional gift for parents and grandparents or for an anniversary, as a wish for health and long life.
