Bowl of Abundance Gold Yuanbao Ingot Medium

The Bowl of Abundance Gold Yuanbao Ingot Medium 4.5 cm is a Feng Shui money talisman in the form of an antique Chinese gold ingot. It is shaped like a traditional Chinese yuanbao ingot — a "little boat" with high curved edges and a raised centre. The sides are covered with a relief of round Chinese coins with square holes, and the top carries a central symbol, just like a real antique ingot. The glossy gold colour makes the ingot festive and eye-catching.

The medium ingot measures 4.5 × 2.7 × 2.3 cm and weighs about 35 g. A universal size: it looks good on a desk or in a display case and still fits easily into a wealth bowl or vase.

The inscription on the box

The price is for 1 ingot; in the photos several ingots are shown in a red gift box inscribed 招財進寶 (zhao cai jin bao) — "attract wealth and bring in treasure". It is one of the most popular Chinese New Year wishes and is often depicted together with yuanbao ingots.

What the yuanbao ingot symbolises

Boat-shaped yuanbao ingots served as money in China for centuries, and their image is still the main symbol of wealth. They are displayed and given at Chinese New Year and placed in wealth bowls and vases. In Feng Shui such an ingot is a "little bowl of abundance": it symbolises money that comes into the home and stays there.

The yuanbao ingot symbolically helps to:

attract money and financial luck;
accumulate and keep savings;
trade and close deals successfully;
increase income;
preserve prosperity in the family.

How to use it

You can:

put it in a wallet, piggy bank, jewellery box or cash drawer;
place it on a desk or by a shop's cash desk;
put it in a wealth bowl or wealth vase together with coins;
place it in the south-eastern wealth area of a home or office;
decorate the festive table at Chinese New Year.

Care

Wipe the ingot with a soft dry cloth and avoid abrasive cleaners so as not to damage the gold-coloured finish.

As a gift

The Bowl of Abundance Gold Yuanbao Ingot Medium 4.5 cm is an inexpensive and symbolic gift for Chinese New Year, a business opening, a housewarming or a birthday. It is given as a wish for wealth, luck and prosperity.
