Altar Figurine “Viy”

Viy is a figure of East Slavic mythology, a mighty spirit of the underworld with heavy eyelids reaching the ground. The figurine shows him massive and fearsome, as an ancient guardian of Nav.

Meaning in tradition. According to folk belief, Viy sees nothing until his helpers lift his eyelids, but then his gaze pierces any protection and reveals everything hidden. The image of Viy became widely known thanks to Nikolai Gogol's story of the same name.

Esoteric properties:

• develops insight and the ability to see what is hidden
• helps recognise deceit and secret intentions
• strengthens protection from dark influences
• supports shadow work and facing deep fears

How to use. Place the figurine on an altar for protection and clairvoyance practices and use it in meditations on revealing the hidden and in night rites.

The figurine is made of polystone in an antique bronze finish, with a name plate “Viy” on the base. Complete your altar with magic candles and incense.
