Altar Figurine “Buddha”, Large

Buddha Shakyamuni is the founder of Buddhism, Prince Siddhartha Gautama, who attained enlightenment under the Bodhi tree. The figurine shows him in meditation on a lotus throne.

Meaning in tradition. Having given up the luxury of the palace, Siddhartha sought a way out of suffering and, on attaining enlightenment, became the Buddha, the Awakened One. His teaching of the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path became the foundation of a world religion, and the image of the Buddha a symbol of peace and wisdom.
