Celestial fairies in Chinese tradition

Images of celestial maidens (仙女, xiannü) — graceful beauties in long flowing robes — have long adorned Chinese painting, porcelain and miniature sculpture. Each fairy is patroness of her own pursuit: the arts, flowers, tea, festivities and the joys of life. Such figurines are valued for their fine detail and calm, harmonious yin energy.

The fairy figurine symbolically:

fills the space with beauty and harmony;
inspires creativity;
supports feminine yin energy;
creates an atmosphere of calm and joy.

Where to place it

A miniature fairy is placed on a desk or tea table, a shelf, in a study or bedroom; in Feng Shui images of beauties suit the south-western relationships area.

As a gift

A fairy figurine is an elegant gift for a girl, a colleague, a lover of tea, flowers or art, and for collectors of miniatures.
